Bethany Hart (she/her/hers)
MSW, LCSW
Morganton + Telehealth for Kids, Adults, and Couples/Families
Bethany is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Granite Falls, a small town in Western North Carolina. She is the oldest of four siblings and grew up riding 4-wheelers, hunting, and fishing—experiences that keep her connected to nature and her community.
She has always been fascinated by how the brain works and the “why” behind just about everything, including human behavior. This curiosity, combined with a genuine passion for helping people navigate and heal from trauma, drives her work. She is committed to supporting clients in understanding their experiences and accepting themselves as part of their healing journey and desire to move forward with confidence.
Bethany’s background primarily focuses in treating children, adolescents, and adults affected by physical, sexual, and psychological abuse/trauma. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Her primary therapeutic approach is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), supported by evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She is also certified in the Eagala model of Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, but is not currently offering equine sessions due to location limitations. She is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive space where clients can begin to explore and heal.
Known for her vibrant personality and genuine warmth, Bethany is honored to bring the mission of Valor Horses for Heroes to Western North Carolina, expanding trauma-focused care to military personnel, first responders, and law enforcement in her hometown community. Though serving this population is a new focus in her career, she approaches the opportunity with eagerness, respect, and a sincere desire to understand the unique experiences of those who have served in these capacities.
Outside of work, Bethany enjoys watching live music, exploring God’s gift of nature, indulging her creative/artistic side, and spending time with her family and pets. Bethany looks forward to meeting you, no matter where you’re at in life. And rest assured, if things don’t feel like a good fit, she is more than willing to help you find the therapist who is right for you.
